Judging the North West Coast

The Inaugural North West Awards for Coastal Excellence (NW ACE)

Judging is now underway on our new award scheme to recognise outstanding achievement in and contribution to the long-term management of our coast and near-shore marine environments.

The 2010 awards will be presented at the biennial regional conference on 25th November in Liverpool (date awaiting final confirmation).

The awards will provide a showcase for individuals, voluntary sector groups and organisations to promote their work and facilitate networking, information sharing and learning from others.

There are three nomination categories:

»      Coastal Champion, open to individuals
»      Coastal Community Action, open to community groups including local volunteers and schools
»      Coastal Best Practice, open to businesses, local authorities, governmental agencies and NGOs. This latter category has sub-themes and although there will be one overall winner, if sufficient entries are received in any one sub-theme additional awards will be granted.

As well as the overall winners for each category, entries of sufficiently high standard will receive ‘Highly Commended’ status.

All entrants will be invited to attend the conference.
